Jersey art and craft



Jersey art and craft spans everything from fabulous textiles, jewellery, painting and sculpture to performance art and poetry.

There are many historical artists, performers and writers associated with the Island, including Victor Hugo, René Lalique, Henry Bosdet, Lillie Langtry, Sir John Everett Millais, Claude Cahun, Malcolm Arbuthnot, Gerald Durrell and Jack Higgins.

Today, there are many local artists, writers and craftspeople working in the Island. You can visit galleries, shops, open studios, and open-air exhibitions, attend the popular Eisteddfodd, watch street theatre, take part in courses, make your own jewellery and buy supplies. There are a number of art and craft events including the Textile Showcase, the St Aubin's craft markets and the annual craft fair. Local crafts can also be seen at many of the smaller events around the Island.
